Trim Castle is everything you picture when you
think of old school castles! The castle was founded
by Hugh de Lacy, a Norman knight, in 1173, and is
one of the largest medieval castles in Ireland. It
makes a spectacular backdrop, and has been used as a
movie set, most recently for Mel Gibson's Braveheart
in 1995.
